拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: The brick measures 70 cm (27.56 inches) on each side, and the table is 76.5 cm (30.12 inches) high overall. This is an 18th-century Qing Dynasty imperial brick table. Condition and Provenance: The gold brick is intact, without any breaks, deep cracks, or large chips. The natural fossil texture on the top is well preserved, and the carvings on the vertical sides are clearly dated with no obvious wear. The brick surface has naturally developed an antique patina over hundreds of years, with only slight signs of age and no modern polishing or stone restoration. The matching hardwood table frame has all four legs intact, and the table skirt and cross braces are complete without cracks or missing parts. It retains a warm, original lacquer finish with no obvious peeling or cracking. The brick and the wooden frame fit perfectly without any gaps. This set was acquired in 2024 by a private Oriental antiques and miscellaneous items collection in Manhattan, New York, USA. New York State and Vancouver are major global centers for the trading of antiques and miscellaneous items. Description: This museum-quality exhibit features an official imperial gold brick fired in the twelfth year of the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Jiangnan imperial kilns, paired with custom-made Ming-style hardwood table legs. Gold bricks were the exclusive flooring material of the Qing Dynasty imperial palace, and have long been coveted tabletop ornaments for Chinese literati and antique collectors. This particular gold brick is thick and square, with a dark gray base color and textures resembling natural prehistoric fossil veins. Its layered organic texture gives it a rugged and rustic beauty. The brick surface is smooth, dense, and solid to the touch. It is made from premium clay from the Jiangnan region, undergoing dozens of processes including washing, shaping, air drying, and long-term wood-fired kiln firing. This clay was exclusively for royal construction. Rectangular grooves are carved along the vertical edges of the brick, within which are clearly raised, neatly engraved characters: "A two-foot gold square brick, exquisitely crafted in Jiangnan, twelfth year of Qianlong's reign." The characters are neat and even, fully indicating the year of production, place of origin, and dimensions—authoritative identifying characteristics of gold bricks used by the Qianlong Emperor. The hardwood base supporting the gold brick follows classic Ming-style furniture design, featuring straight square legs and concave horseshoe-shaped feet, without a waistline, and reinforced on all four sides with arched skirts and arched braces. The simple lines showcase the exquisite beauty of Ming-style wooden furniture, while the clearly grained polished mahogany firmly supports the heavy brick, perfectly complementing the rustic brick with elegant traditional woodwork. Qing Dynasty gold bricks were exclusively used in the Forbidden City and royal temples, and their production process was extremely complex, with rigorous quality control. Well-preserved two-foot standard bricks with clear and complete reign marks are extremely rare on the global market, and a complete display set with a Ming-style hardwood table is even rarer. This gold brick possesses clearly identifiable authentic markings, is structurally intact, has highly decorative natural fossilized textures, and comes with a finely crafted Ming-style hardwood table stand. It not only possesses irreplaceable historical value for Qing Dynasty royal architecture but also invaluable value for luxurious interior decoration and antique collections, making it a top-tier museum piece.
