拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: 12.5 cm (4.92 inches) in diameter, 13 cm (5.12 inches) in height. A Song Dynasty (10th-13th century) Hutian kiln celadon-glazed scholar's storage jar. Condition and Provenance: This jar is in excellent condition, without cracks, damage, or signs of repair. The entire body retains its original celadon glaze, covered with fine, natural crackles. Only slight wear is visible at the flared rim; there is no glaze peeling or flaking. Clear hand-stitched patterns are visible on the unglazed base, clearly discernible on the dry porcelain clay, with natural firing marks. This jar has not undergone any modern polishing, reglazing, or artificial aging. Originally owned by a European private collector, it is now in the possession of a private collector in Chicago, Illinois, specializing in pre-Ming ceramics. Hong Kong was a major global trading center for pre-Song Dynasty Chinese ceramics. Description: This melon-shaped, everted-mouth jar is a Song Dynasty scholar's piece from the Hutian Kiln in Jingdezhen. Commonly used as a water jar or small storage container, it showcases the exquisite shaping and glazing techniques of the Hutian Kiln potters. The jar has a wide, everted mouth, a short neck, and a rounded, full body decorated with continuous, rounded melon-shaped ribs that outline a soft, wavy silhouette. The foot rim is decorated with twisted rope patterns, adding to its lively beauty. Both the interior and exterior are covered with a translucent celadon glaze. The pale blue glaze is as clear and smooth as jade, with fine, natural crackles covering the surface, caused by centuries of thermal expansion and contraction, and also exhibiting irregular cracks from natural aging. The interior is also fully glazed, and the concentric spiral patterns left by the ancient potter's wheel are clearly visible on the inner bottom. The carved rope-patterned foot rim exposes the unglazed white porcelain body, with only a few kiln marks and a light-colored patina formed from the initial firing and burial. Song Dynasty Hutian celadon porcelain pursued the aesthetic ideal of imitating jade. The melon-ribbed pattern was extremely popular in the Song Dynasty, incorporating decorative motifs originally used for gold and silver vessels into ceramic craftsmanship. This jar features a balanced and symmetrical melon-ribbed shape, an elegant glaze, and natural crackles characteristic of its time, showing no signs of later alteration. It serves as an important reference specimen for studying the techniques of the Hutian Kiln and is also an excellent desktop ornament for traditional studies and tea rooms, possessing extremely high historical, aesthetic, and collectible value.
