拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Melon-patterned pot: maximum diameter of the body 11.5 cm (4.53 inches), total height 10 cm (3.94 inches); Floral-patterned pot: maximum diameter of the body 11.3 cm (4.45 inches), total height 11.5 cm (4.53 inches). Two Song Dynasty celadon pottery pots, 10th-13th centuries. Condition and Provenance: Both pots are structurally intact and without cracks. The melon-patterned pot has its original lid; the floral-patterned pot has its original lid. The glaze exhibits natural aging crackles, a few pits, and discoloration due to excavation. The spouts and handles are well-preserved, and the carved and molded decorative patterns are clearly discernible. The exposed bases reveal the dry, rough clay body with authentic burial soil layers, showing no signs of modern polishing, artificial patina, or glaze repair. This set of porcelain originally belonged to a private collection in Europe and is now in the possession of a private collector in Seattle, Washington, USA, whose collection consists of pre-Ming Dynasty porcelain. Hong Kong was a major international market for ancient Chinese porcelain before the Song Dynasty. Description: This pair of celadon-glazed teapots were everyday wine and tea utensils used during the Song Dynasty, showcasing the firing techniques of southern kilns and the rich and diverse folk decorative aesthetics of medieval China. The first teapot has a rounded, full body, shaped like a melon petal, with a surface densely covered with comb-like patterns, giving it a rich texture. The lid features an original spiral carving, the spout is curved, and the handle is ergonomically designed; the overall shape is simple and elegant. The second teapot has a rounded, full body, with radiating patterns on the neck, shallow relief scroll patterns on the body, and chrysanthemum patterns on the lid; the overall shape is elegant and lively. Both pieces are covered inside and out with a soft, pale blue-white glaze, with fine natural crackle patterns; the thinner glaze layer reveals earth-colored glaze. The spouts are proportionally balanced, and the handles are designed according to the practical principles of Song Dynasty craftsmanship, providing a comfortable grip. The wide, unglazed foot rim exposes the grayish-white body, which bears traces of burial and natural firing colors—typical characteristics of Southern Song Dynasty celadon. Song Dynasty celadon widely employed naturalistic shapes, combined with carving and molding decoration. Melon-petal and scrolling patterns were extremely popular decorative motifs at the time. Extant pairs of these pieces are quite rare. This set is of significant value for the study of Southern Song Dynasty civilian ceramics technology; its pair display is also very eye-catching, and it possesses important folk archaeological, aesthetic, and early porcelain collection value.
