拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Eight incense burners with the knotted design are 4.5 cm (1.77 inches) in diameter and 2.5 cm (0.98 inches) thick; one plain, open-mouthed jade plate is 5.7 cm (2.24 inches) in diameter and 2.3 cm (0.91 inches) thick. The complete set weighs 230 grams. This is a complete set of 18th-19th century Qing Dynasty Hetian jade incense burners. Condition and Provenance: All nine pieces are carved from natural light blue-green Hetian jade. The eight incense burners have a two-piece lid and base structure with tight mortise and tenon joints, and each burner has a hollow incense holder inside; the ninth, plain, open-mouthed jade plate, does not have an incense holder. The jade is soft, with faint natural light brown veins and light green mineral spots, all characteristic of raw jade. Each piece is plain and undecorated, with both the inner and outer surfaces evenly polished, presenting a soft luster. The entire set is free of cracks, defects, repairs, or mismatched parts. With only slight traces of natural wear over the centuries visible on the edges, the surface is covered with a uniform natural patina, untouched by artificial dyeing or chemical aging. This set of incense dishes was originally consigned for sale by a historic antique jade gallery in Singapore and entered the private collection of a Ming and Qing dynasty jade connoisseur in Texas in 2026. Texas, New Jersey, and Singapore are major global centers for the trading of Ming and Qing dynasty antique jade. Description: This well-preserved set of nine Qing dynasty Hetian jade dishes is a complete traditional literati incense set; such a complete set is extremely rare on the antique market. The set comprises two different functional forms: eight incense burners in the shape of peace knots and one open, plain incense dish, suitable for various ancient incense ceremony rituals. The eight peace knot dishes are in the classic donut-shaped jade dish form, consisting of two seamlessly joined sections. Each dish has a raised, hollow pin in the center for securing incense sticks and placing incense balls; the cavity between the lid and the bottom securely stores the diffused incense, cleverly integrating storage and burning functions. Another open, plain tray, without a latch, can be used to hold incense paste, fine incense powder, or crushed agarwood, complementing the entire incense set. These trays are exquisitely carved, flawless, and rounded in shape. The artisans chose a plain, unadorned design to fully showcase the silky smoothness of Hetian jade. Natural reddish-brown hues blend naturally along the jade's grain, and the surface is covered with a soft patina accumulated over centuries. In the Qing Dynasty, plain jade incense trays were common decorative and practical utensils in the studies and elegant private rooms of Chinese literati. Well-preserved complete sets are extremely rare, and those passed down through generations are even more exceptional. This collection not only perfectly reproduces the complete layout of ancient literati incense culture but is also highly collectible, suitable as an independent museum piece or a desktop display. For collectors studying Qing Dynasty jade carving techniques, traditional Chinese incense culture, and the furnishings of ancient literati studies, it possesses multiple values and is highly sought after by jade collectors in North America and Southeast Asia, with reliable long-term appreciation potential.
