拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: 28.5 cm (11.22 inches) in length, 107 grams in total weight. A 17th-19th century Qing Dynasty gilded silver wire inlaid gemstone and agate ruyi (a type of scepter). Condition and Provenance: The curved handle is carved from a single piece of natural white agate, with smooth, flowing lines, a semi-transparent texture, and a bright luster. The agate body has no deep cracks, defects, or artificial acid washing or dyeing marks; the surface only has a light, natural patina. The middle and tail of the handle are decorated with gilded silver bands, featuring continuous scrolling foliage patterns; the thick gilding gives it a rich, even golden sheen. The ruyi head has a double-layered gilded silver base, shaped like a begonia, with a cabochon ruby in the center surrounded by a circle of gold beads, against a background of openwork interwoven metal wire mesh. The back of the ruyi is decorated with delicate cloud and bat patterns, symbolizing good fortune and longevity. The overall gilding is well preserved, with only minor wear on the edges. The rubies are securely set, with no loosening or falling out; the connections between the agate and gilded fittings are tight, without cracks or glue detachment. The entire ruyi has not undergone any repair, replacement, or modern restoration. This agate ruyi was previously handled by an antique gallery in Singapore and was acquired in 2026 by a private collector of Qing dynasty antique art in Florida. New York, Vancouver, London, and Toronto are major global centers for antique art trading. Description: This Qing dynasty gilded silver wire inlaid gemstone and agate ruyi is a high-end ceremonial ornament made to royal workshop standards. The ruyi has been a symbol of good fortune and prosperity since ancient times, and in the Qing dynasty, it was a core luxury royal gift for birthday celebrations and festivals. This piece integrates five exquisite traditional handcraft techniques: gold nugget work, twisted wire work, gold wire weaving, chasing, and stone carving. The gold nugget work is extremely complex, requiring the melting of extremely fine metal wire into uniformly sized gold beads, which are then layered to outline the dragon scale pattern. The openwork gold wire technique creates a stunning three-dimensional transparency, while the dragon chasing a pearl motif symbolizes good fortune, and the central ruby adds a touch of luxury. The elegant, translucent white agate contrasts sharply with the opulent gold foil, perfectly blending softness and solemnity, reflecting the understated yet noble aesthetic favored by the Qing Dynasty court. The scepter has a well-proportioned overall shape, with complete and clear craftsmanship details, uniformly sized gold grains, and smooth, continuous gold wire lines, preserving the natural ruby's color and the unprocessed agate texture. A well-preserved ruyi with original gold and silver wire, gemstones, and an agate handle is extremely rare; similar pieces are mostly scattered among private collectors in Europe and America. Well-preserved original ruyi enjoys a high reputation in the international antique market. It not only possesses comprehensive academic research value encompassing Qing Dynasty goldsmithing techniques, gemstone carving, and court etiquette culture, but also maintains long-term stable appreciation potential in the international antique market, making it a true gem among Qing Dynasty miscellaneous collectibles.
