拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Diameter 23.5 cm (9.3 in), Height 20 cm (7.9 in), Weight 7.25 kg (15.98 lb), 15th century. Condition and Provenance: Overall in good condition, exhibiting a mature bronze patina with natural oxidation and aging marks, and signs of long-term use, consistent with early Ming dynasty bronze ritual vessels. Provenance: Private collection, California, USA. Description: This bronze tripod incense burner is an outstanding example of Ming dynasty bronze ritual vessel craftsmanship. Cast from refined bronze, the body is substantial and feels solid and powerful. The wide, outward-curving rim extends upwards to a pair of towering vertical handles, each depicted in a realistic bamboo-joint style with clear and distinct details. The rounded body is full and balanced, decorated with two raised horizontal lines encircling the outer edge, creating a layered architectural aesthetic. The bamboo-joint legs and the carved bamboo patterns on the feet complement each other, resulting in a harmonious and unified overall design. The bamboo pattern is central, symbolizing continuous life and prosperity. The interior retains traces of time, with mottled verdigris and signs of incense use, highlighting its long history. The exterior presents a warm bronze-brown color, with rich layers of verdigris and natural color variations, also reflecting the passage of time. The base features a circular recessed mark with six raised characters reading "Made in the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming Dynasty," the characters vigorous, clear, and flowing. This complete Ming Dynasty bronze incense burner is well-proportioned, exquisitely cast, and features a unique bamboo pattern design, fully demonstrating the superb craftsmanship of ritual bronze ware made during the Xuande period. It was both a practical incense burner and a treasured item for scholars and literati.
