拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: 11.5 cm (4.53 in) in diameter, 13.5 cm (5.31 in) in height, 18th century. Condition and Provenance: Excellent overall condition. No cracks, defects, or signs of repair. The outer copper-red glaze is rich and lustrous, while the inner crackle glaze is well-preserved, with clearly visible natural crackle patterns. The unglazed sandy base and original mark are intact, and the surface displays fascinating signs of age. Private collection, New York. Description: This incense burner is cylindrical with a wide, slightly flared mouth. The body is straight, gradually narrowing to a delicate ring foot. The overall shape is balanced and elegant, consistent with the style of Qing dynasty artifacts. The outer layer is covered with a vibrant copper-red glaze, while the inner layer is covered with a light gray crackle glaze, creating a striking contrast. The body is a rich, deep red, with countless tiny sesame-like crystals dotting the glossy surface. The glaze gradually thins at the rim, revealing a narrow, pale yellow "wick"-like edge, a typical characteristic of high-temperature flame glazes. The interior is covered with a Ge-style glaze, intricately patterned with natural crackles that run the entire length of the vessel. The unglazed foot rim reveals the reddish-brown body, showing wheel marks and scattered natural impurities from the kiln. The flowing glaze around the foot rim creates the rustic texture characteristic of Qing dynasty flame-glazed porcelain. This piece was fired with a skillfully executed high-temperature copper-red glaze, demonstrating excellent kiln control; its deep, rich exterior glaze complements the exquisite crackle-patterned interior glaze perfectly. Originally designed for burning incense in scholars' studies, reception rooms, or Buddhist sites, this incense burner is remarkably well-preserved with a glossy glaze, making it a fine example of Qing dynasty flame-glazed scholar's wares.
