拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: 14.5 cm (5.71 in), 15 cm (5.91 in), 18 cm (7.09 in), 19 cm (7.48 in) long, total weight 81 grams; Period: 10th to 13th centuries; Condition and Provenance: This complete set of four ancient bone combs is in excellent condition. All parts are original, with no modern replacements, extensive restorations, or glues. Each piece retains its original hand-cut perforations, grooves, and decorative circular stampings. The original bone texture is clearly visible, and the surface exhibits varying degrees of burial marks, ranging from milky white to a striking turquoise green mineral stain that has penetrated deep into the bone matrix. There are minor surface abrasions, slight edge chips, and a small amount of mineral crust, consistent with long-term underground burial. There are no artificial staining, chemical treatments, or recarving details. All hand-cut tool marks are authentic evidence of their origin. This rare set of Liao-Jin dynasty bone personal grooming tools comes from a respected private collector in Oregon who specializes in collecting everyday artifacts from the Northern Middle Ages. This set of artifacts was acquired in the early 1990s by a well-known Asian antique dealer in Portland and has remained in the private collection ever since. Original acquisition documents, archival records, and old photographs have been carefully archived and categorized under the Liao-Jin Northern Folk Bone Artifacts group. Its complete provenance is clearly traceable. Description: This exquisite Liao-Jin period bone comb set consists of four handcrafted bone combs, showcasing the daily personal hygiene culture of northern nomadic societies. Each comb is crafted from dense animal bone, exhibiting distinct handcrafted characteristics, including dense circular perforations, parallel grooves, and neat circular stamped patterns. The combs vary in shape, from slender straight handles to wide flared handles, demonstrating their diverse functional design for combing hair and personal hygiene. The Liao and Jin tribal peoples widely used bone cosmetics and grooming tools. Today, complete sets of bone cosmetics and grooming tools of various shapes with colorful burial mineral patinas are extremely rare. They are irreplaceable material references for studying Liao and Jin bone artifact craftsmanship, nomadic people's daily clothing customs and folk material culture. They have significant archaeological and historical value, excellent display effect, and high-level antique collection value.
