拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Height 16.5 cm (6.5 inches), Mouth Diameter 3.3 cm (1.3 inches), Qing Dynasty (18th-19th century). Condition and Provenance: This vase is well-preserved, with an intact body and no obvious cracks or damage. The glaze exhibits a natural kiln-transformation effect, with fine "ox-hair" patterns. The original unglazed foot rim and wheel-firing marks are clearly visible. Provenance: Private collection in California, USA; long-term private family collection. Description: This Qing Dynasty Jun red glazed plum vase is 16.5 cm high and 3.3 cm in diameter at the mouth. The vase is exquisitely shaped, with a monochromatic glaze, a small and elegant form, and vibrant kiln-transformation colors. The body follows the classic plum vase shape: small mouth, short neck, rounded shoulders, slightly narrowed body, and a slightly flared foot rim. This small piece is perfect for display in a study or for flower arranging; its graceful contours and unique glaze effect give it excellent visual appeal. The base is unglazed, made of light beige clay, revealing fine wheel marks and a dense, compact clay structure. The foot rim retains subtle firing marks and the texture of age. The entire body is covered in a rich Jun ware red glaze, a deep jujube red, thick and glossy, with fine, natural hair-like patterns. A band of kiln-transformation patterns is visible on the shoulder and neck, where moon white and soft blue transition naturally over the red glaze, creating a smooth transition. The interplay of red, blue, and white creates a rich visual effect, achievable only through the pottery firing process. The glaze is thinner at the rim, revealing a soft pink clay edge with a few natural glaze bubbles, traces of high-temperature firing. This type of vessel employs the extremely difficult copper-red glaze firing technique, requiring highly precise temperature control during firing, resulting in unique kiln-transformation patterns in each piece. Its small and exquisite shape, bright red glaze, and elegant taste of literati make it a model of monochrome ceramics in the Qing Dynasty. It is still a highly collectible work of art today.
