拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Maximum width 12 cm (4.72 inches), total height 13 cm (5.12 inches), weight 319 grams, 7th-10th century. Condition and Provenance: This pot is in excellent condition, with no cracks on the lid, body, fish-shaped spout, or knot-shaped handle. Due to long-term aging, there is some minor glaze loss on the body. A soil-buried patina is visible on the rim and foot. The beaded decoration is well-preserved. No modern restorations or reglazing. This pot was originally owned by a private collector in Hong Kong and sold in 2007 with the assistance of an antique dealer in Toronto. The original collector's archives and old film negatives taken from multiple angles have been preserved. Description: This Tang Dynasty lead-green glazed water pot, decorated with beaded decorations, features a fish-shaped spout. It is a low-temperature lead-glazed pottery used for holding wine and tea during the Tang Dynasty. The pot is covered with a rich, deep green glaze and retains its original matching lid. The spout is carved into a fish head, and the handle is openwork carved into a rope knot shape. The body of the pot is decorated with dense, cascading beads, while the tall base is adorned with lotus petal patterns. The beaded decoration fully reflects cultural exchange between China and other countries. The fish-head shape symbolizes wealth and good fortune, while the rope-knot-shaped handle showcases exquisite decorative craftsmanship. The exposed rim of the pot's base has developed a thick patina due to burial, and the glaze is deep and rustic, faithfully displaying the characteristics of Tang Dynasty aristocratic and export-oriented lead-glazed pottery. Extant green-glazed water pots incorporating foreign decorative elements are extremely rare, making them important artifacts for studying Tang Dynasty ceramic technology and cross-cultural exchange.
