拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Length 120 cm (47.24 in), Height 82 cm (32.28 in)Condition & Provenance:This entire table is built with authentic traditional Chinese mortise?and?tenon joinery, not a single modern nail or glue was used anywhere, the whole framework stays rock solid after more than one hundred years of passing time.It keeps its original inherited antique patina one?hundred?percent, the surface glow built up naturally from decades of display and daily use, instead of modern artificial paint or fake aging treatment. The huanghuali hardwood is dense and solid, the main tabletop shows wide flowing swirling grain patterns that look like natural mountain?and?water scenery, wood tone shifts from bright golden yellow down to warm caramel brown with fantastic layered texture. There are no penetrating big cracks,no missing wood sections on this piece. You will spot tiny nicks and surface wear along edges, which are totally expected age marks for an authentic antique piece. Some old subtle dirt sits deep inside carved crevices from long?term use,we only did gentle conservative dust cleaning and never heavily sanded or refinished the whole surface. No large?scale repairs,no replaced wood pieces and no modified splicing work were ever done. This altar table once belonged to a well?established private Asian art collector based in Los Angeles,California. This collector spent over forty years collecting fine oriental antiques.Back in 1998,the collector traveled all the way to Shanghai and purchased this table directly from a well?known local antique shop. After shipping back to the United States,it was always displayed inside climate?controlled private gallery space. It was never stored in damp warehouse environments and has never appeared on public auction platforms. It is coming fresh out of family estate sorting right now, direct from old private collection to California market.Full historical collection files are available for review.Description:Hand?crafted from premium large?size huanghuali hardwood, this scroll?end altar table counts as an important hall?style furniture piece made during Late Qing to Republic of China period. The tabletop follows classic Chinese frame?panel construction, the wide flat board gives you spectacular wild ghost?face and swirling mountain?water grain view you can appreciate from both top and bottom sides. Both table ends feature iconic scroll?end design with soft inward curving rolled edges, the rounded smooth lines soften the heavy visual feel of solid hardwood. The apron section is heavily decorated with deep open?work carvings with multi?depth layering, you can find linked coin motifs, interlocking scroll patterns, mini chi?dragon heads and ruyi cloud ornaments all over these cut?out sections. These hollow?out structures reduce bulky visual weight while carrying traditional symbolic meanings of wealth and good fortune. The four solid substantial legs are segmented with detailed relief carvings.Top section of each leg bears classic Chinese longevity character, middle part features antique vase holding lotus blossom symbolizing peace, bottom section shows decorative auspicious ribbon and tassel motifs.Every carving stroke is crisp and precise, you can make out every petal, cloud curl and dragon outline without blurred sloppy cuts.Stretchers and inner supporting aprons between legs strengthen the whole structure further. This table holds perfectly balanced proportions with grand elegant silhouette. The rich elaborate carvings never look overdone or bloated,it perfectly combines structural beauty of Chinese hardwood furniture with meaningful ornamental artwork. It is super functional in real?world use,you can place it as ancestral offering table in main hall, use it as entryway console,or set porcelain, jade, bronze antiques on top for display. This is a high?grade surviving example of huanghuali household furniture from Late Qing and Republic era.
