拍品描述 翻译
Measurements:Overall height 6 cm / 2.36 inches, width 5 cm / 1.97 inches, weight 79.4 grams, Qing Dynasty, Category: Ming & Qing Hetian Jade, Primary trading market: New JerseyCondition & Provenance:This snuff bottle is carved entirely from one solid piece of Hetian white jade, fully intact with no internal cracks, hidden flaws, chips or missing jade material. The begonia flower outline around the body features smooth, soft flowing curves. The natural golden seed jade skin covering the whole perimeter is fully preserved, with no artificial staining or added fake skin. The relief carvings on both sides feature consistent carving depth with crisp lines that have not worn blurred over time. One side displays a vivid three-dimensional deer holding ganoderma lucidum, while the reverse side bears neatly carved four-character seal script "Fu Lu Yong Chang" raised on a square ground panel. The bottle neck interior is smoothly hollowed with uniform wall thickness. It retains its original full set of accessories: a red agate bead stopper secured by double twisted metal wire collars, plus the original miniature copper snuff spoon stored inside. The jade surface carries thick, soft natural aged patina from generations of handling, no modern re-polishing or refinishing work. The flat base is untouched with no sanding or reshaping alterations. This piece was originally purchased at the 2014 New York Asian Art Fair, then transferred in 2017 to a private collector specializing in Ming and Qing jade antiques based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. It has been displayed long-term inside a climate-controlled showcase, never cleaned, sanded, re-dyed or repaired by human hands, retaining its original natural seed jade skin and untouched aged patina.Object Description:This antique snuff bottle is carved from premium Hetian white seed jade with natural preserved golden skin, crafted during the Qing Dynasty. It is a high-end jade scholar’s object for display and personal handling, one of the most sought-after categories among international collectors of Ming and Qing jadeware. The raw material is top-grade first-tier white Hetian seed jade with extremely fine, oily texture and rich fat-like luster. The craftsman intentionally retained the natural golden pear skin along the entire edge to add layered visual depth, a masterful skill known as skin-retaining carving. The rare flattened begonia flower silhouette features a short straight narrow neck and wide tapering base, an elegant form perfectly aligned with the imperial jade workshop aesthetic of mid-to-late Qing China. Both sides of the body carry framed relief carvings. The front panel depicts a graceful immortal deer clutching a longevity ganoderma fungus, with meticulously carved antlers, fur texture and plant foliage, symbolizing fortune, rank and long life. The reverse panel bears neatly raised seal script characters "Fu Lu Yong Chang", conveying classic auspicious blessings in an understated refined style. The interior hollowing craftsmanship is masterful with evenly distributed wall thickness, delivering a perfectly balanced comfortable grip. The matching red agate bead stopper seals tightly via twisted metal fittings, paired with its original intact copper snuff spoon, forming a complete unbroken matching set. Snuff bottles were elite personal accessories for nobles during the Qing Dynasty. Complete matching sets of Hetian white jade snuff bottles with untouched natural seed skin are remarkably scarce today. This piece combines clever skin carving, symbolic auspicious relief sculpture, traditional blessing inscriptions and top-tier jade material. It excels in jade quality, unique form, carving skill, natural patina and complete original fittings, holding equal value for display, personal collection and investment. It ranks as a highly desirable premium Hetian jade desk curio among American and European jade collectors.
