拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions:Diameter 19.5 cm (7.68 in),Weight 279g,2nd Century BCE?2nd Century CECondition & Provenance:The disc is fully intact without cracks,no modern repairs or replaced sections. The piece features a deep gem?blue glass body retaining authentic ancient casting texture. The surface bears natural earth encrustations, brown?tan deposits and silvery weathering crust formed by long underground burial. The outer?band chilong relief patterns are mold?cast, design details remain legible with minor surface wear from burial. The central aperture is well?formed;inner bore preserves original casting marks. Both sides retain untouched burial patina,no modern polishing or over?cleaning. No heavy damages or fissures.Provenance:Private collection of Richmond,Virginia,United States.Acquired through Hong Kong antique dealer by the collector in 1981,kept within family private holdings and released to market recently.Description:This large blue glass bi?disc dates back to Han dynasty,it ranks as high?rank jade?imitating ritual artifact, used for aristocratic burial and sacrificial ceremonies back then.It was fully molded in one piece following classic jade bi form. The disc is divided into inner and outer zones, the outer circular band carries continuous mold?cast coiled chilong creatures, the swirling motifs deliver that bold, lively artistic spirit typical of Han art.The inner zone is plain, covered with fine pitted texture left over from ancient casting. That vivid deep sapphire?blue color is really rare among surviving Han glass. After thousands of years underground,a thick multi?layer weathering crust developed across the surface, brown soil deposits intermix with silvery efflorescence, creating rich visual depth. Both sides maintain original burial condition, never polished or cleaned in post?era, which preserves its authentic unearthed look.Large intact Han blue glass bi?discs are quite rare. Most museum?held examples are much smaller. This nearly 20?centimeter specimen is highly desirable. It serves as an important reference artifact for ancient ritual studies, and also works great for display. It draws strong attention from ancient glass collectors across North America and Asia.
