拍品描述 翻译
Measurements: Total length 37.5cm (14.76 inches), maximum width 13cm (5.12 inches), 7?10th century Tang low?fired lead?glazed potteryCondition & Provenance: The platter is fully intact without cracks. Only minor age?related surface wear appears along rim and fish?tail edge, no major chips or losses. Mold?pressed fish?scale and fin patterns remain sharp and well?defined. Green, amber and brown glazes fuse organically across surface with fine natural crackle. The underside is covered in yellow?toned glaze showing original ancient kiln spur?mark firing traces. Firm bond between body and glaze, no later reglazing or artificial grinding. This artifact originally emerged from Hong Kong antique market, passed through an antique dealer in Jakarta, and is currently housed in a private ancient ceramic collection in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Hong Kong is the leading global marketplace for pre?Song ancient pottery and porcelain.Description: This large Tang Sancai platter is skillfully modeled in the shape of a swimming fish, an auspicious object for Tang people, since the Chinese character for fish sounds identical to surplus, symbolizing abundance year after year. The whole piece is sculpted after a real fish: broad open fish?head, slightly parted mouth and vividly rendered eyes, with rich deep?green glaze covering the head area. Densely molded overlapping fish?scales run all over the body, stippled with blended yellow, brown and black glazes to imitate real fish skin coloration. Fins and tail feature raised molded vein details with lifelike flowing contours. The inner space forms a shallow usable basin. The outer base is glazed in tawny yellow, retaining three authentic kiln spur marks, direct physical evidence of Tang?dynasty firing technology. Fine natural crackle spreads over the entire glazed surface. Bold vibrant colors perfectly embody the exuberant artistic aesthetic of High Tang era. Large?size Sancai biomorphic wares are uncommon among surviving Tang relics. This fish?form platter with big dimension, complete silhouette and well?preserved fine details is quite rare. It serves as vital material reference for understanding Tang mold?forming ceramic craft, while reflecting Tang folk auspicious culture, delivering outstanding aesthetic appreciation and collectible significance.
