拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Mouth Diameter 13cm (5.12in), Height 6.8cm (2.68in), Song Dynasty, 10th to 13th CenturyCondition & Provenance: The whole vessel is fully intact without cracks, chips or restorations, the two fish-shaped ears, furnace body and foot ring are all flawless. The whole body is covered with thick, mild cream glaze, fully covered with standard golden-thread and iron-wire crackles inside and out. Dark brown thick iron lines interweave with thin golden yellow fine lines, all crackle textures form naturally with no artificial dyeing. The glaze holds soft subtle matte luster, the base foot exposes dark purple iron clay, the clay body is dense and ancient with soft natural soil patina. Category: Pre-Song porcelain, market destination: Hong Kong. This censer originates from the private collection of a veteran Song porcelain collector in Central Hong Kong. The collector acquired this piece from a time-honored antique gallery in Central Hong Kong back in 2002, all original purchase receipts, thermoluminescence test reports and authoritative ancient ceramic appraisal certificates are fully preserved.Description: This Gui-style incense burner with fish ears is a classic decorative ritual ware from China’s Song Ge Kiln, modeled after Shang and Zhou bronze Gui vessels. It served as a premium incense burner for imperial literati studies during the Song Dynasty, and intact top-tier specimens are extremely scarce on today’s antique market. The shape is elegant and well-proportioned, with wide open mouth, tapered belly and low outward splayed foot ring. A pair of symmetrical fish-shaped ears attach to both sides of the furnace body, crafted with smooth rounded lines that carry the solemn refined charm of ancient bronze ritual wares. The entire piece is coated with even creamy yellow Ge Kiln glaze featuring thick buttery soft luster. Natural crackles spread all over interior and exterior: thick dark cracks are iron wires, while thin pale yellow fine cracks are golden threads, forming distinct layered textures that define Ge Kiln’s iconic hallmark. The crackles vary in density and stretch seamlessly from the rim all the way to the base foot, with zero artificially fabricated crackle marks. The foot ring is neatly trimmed, revealing purple-brown clay along the edge, known as the famous purple iron foot unique to Ge Kiln, with smooth natural transition between clay and glaze. This burner retains perfectly elegant ancient glaze tone, balanced body proportions and flawless natural crackles, fully preserving its original firing condition from the Song Dynasty. It stands as a museum-grade representative specimen among China’s Five Great Song Imperial Kilns, delivering extraordinary academic research value for ceramic history as well as elite collectible and decorative value for high-end ancient porcelain collectors worldwide.
