拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions:Overall Height 28 cm (11 in), 10th–13th Centurycondition & Provenance:The vase is fully intact with no cracks, chips or restorations. The whole glaze is covered with natural fine crackle, dotted with primitive yellowish-brown burial stains embedded into the glaze. The proportions of garlic mouth, slender tapered neck, plump pear-shaped belly and foot ring are perfectly balanced. Five tiny sesame-shaped firing spurs on the base remain crisp and undamaged. There is only one tiny faint old nick along the edge of the foot ring that barely impacts the overall integrity. It was once part of a distinguished ancient porcelain collector’s private collection in Hong Kong, then acquired by a private antique collector in San Francisco, California, USA in 2012, with fully documented collecting history.Description:This garlic-shaped vase covered in iconic sky-celadon glaze is a rare imperial display porcelain crafted at the Ru official kiln during the Song Dynasty. Hand-thrown with seamless fluid silhouette, the vessel is divided into four elegant sections: bulbous garlic mouth, slender tapering neck, full rounded belly and shallow foot ring, embodying the minimalist aesthetic cherished by Song literati and imperial courts. The entire surface is coated with thick, even, luminous sky-celadon glaze unique to Ru ware, presenting a soft pale turquoise lake tone. Delicate natural cicada-wing crackle spreads all over the glaze, layered with uneven yellowish-brown burial patina formed over thousands of years underground; all stains penetrate naturally without modern artificial distressing. The bulbous garlic mouth features a tiny restrained opening, the neck gently narrows down before smoothly transitioning into a large plump belly, which tapers to a narrow shallow foot ring. Five tiny sesame-size spur marks are neatly reserved on the flat base, the signature firing technique exclusive to imperial Ru kiln production. Surviving Ru kiln porcelains are extremely scarce worldwide, and garlic vases are far rarer than mainstream Ru forms such as wash basins and tea cups. Undamaged intact specimens with original burial patina and clear spur marks rarely appear on the antique market. This artifact combines the pinnacle of Song ceramic craftsmanship, one-of-a-kind sky-celadon glaze, and timeless scholar-style shape. It retains its original buried condition, with glaze tone, crackle texture, spur marks and silhouette fully matching all official Northern Song Ru kiln standards. It holds exceptional academic research value for ancient ceramics, top-tier imperial porcelain collectible worth, and unparalleled oriental decorative art value for interior design.
