Georgia Roode was an established American collector of Chinese snuff bottles, active in the 1960s and 1970s. She was known among leading specialists and collectors including Bob C. Stevens, Lilla S. Perry, Arthur Loveless and Edmund Dwyer. Her collection encompassed finely carved jade, glass, mother-of-pearl, lacquer and other rare snuff bottles, several of which were subsequently published, exhibited, and absorbed into other distinguished collections.

Clare Chu has been active in the field of Chinese snuff bottles for 40 years as a gallery owner, curator, auction consultant, lecturer, and writer. She is the author of many articles, books, and snuff bottle catalogs, and has curated exhibitions at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (2016), and at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore (2018). In October 2021 she curated an exhibition of over 750 snuff bottles held at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Taipei.

Feng-Chun Ma is a distinguished scholar, collector, and dealer of Chinese art with more than thirty-five years of experience. Born in the Netherlands to Chinese parents, she was influenced early on by her father’s efforts to promote Chinese culture in Europe. Her professional career in the Asian art world began in 1982 at Christie’s Amsterdam, after which she served as Head of the Chinese and Japanese Department at Sotheby’s Amsterdam, before establishing her own dealership, Feng-Chun Ma Chinese & Japanese Art, in 2003. Over the course of her career, she has assembled a renowned private collection centered on the motif of ‘boys at play’ (yingxitu), comprising rare and well-provenanced works ranging from Song dynasty ceramics to Ming and Qing porcelain, jade, bronzes, snuff bottles, and textiles, reflecting both her scholarly insight and connoisseurship.
