Description: Fire-gilt bronze
China, Northern Wei Dynasty (386 – 535)
The Bodhisattva Guanyin cast standing against a lotus petal shaped mandorla with a seated Buddha emanation on the very top and stylized flames incised. Guanyin is standing on a stepped lotus pedestal and wears a layered robe and a prominent necklace. In her right hand she holds a bowl and in her left a whisk. The bronze comes complete with its original, slightly tapered support.

Dimensions: 18,8 cm (total height), 4,8 cm (width)
Condition: Good condition with extensive patina and abrasions to the gilding
