Description: LARGE BUTTERFLY VASE.China. In the style of the Guangxu period (1875-1908), but probably later. Porcelain painted in famille rose and gold. The vase in yutangchun ping shape finely painted with a wide range of butterflies. At the shoulder a lotus border with shou signs and framed by golden rings. Typical for this type of vase is the symmetrically arranged design. Vases of this type were produced for representation as well as award for merits. This is shown in a photo on the dust jacket of the catalog of the Weishaupt collection by Avitabile with Prince Chun II accompanied by his sons and a vase of this type next to him on a small table. Height 39.6cm. Underneath in enamel iron red a six character Guanxu mark, but probably later. Condition A. Literature: -Gunhild Avitabile: From the Dragon's Treasure. London, 1987. Im Stil der Guangxu-Periode (1875-1908), aber evtl. sp?ter. Porzellan, bemalt mit famille rose und gold. Auf der Vase in yutangchun ping-Form fein gemalte Schmetterlinge in gro?er Vielfalt. Auf der Schulter eine Lotosrankenborte mit shou-Zeichen, umgeben von Goldlinien. Unter der Mündung eine ruyi-Bordüre. Wie bei diesem Vasentypus üblich ist das Design gr??tenteils symmetrisch angelegt.Vasen dieser Art wurden als Repr?sentationsstücke gefertigt und als Auszeichnung verliehen, wie auf dem Titelfoto des Buches der Weishaupt-Sammlung von Avitabile zu sehen, das den Prinzen Chun II mit seinen S?hnen zeigt und einer solchen Vase auf einem Tisch daneben. H?he 39,6cm. Im Boden in Aufglasur-Eisenrot eine sechsteilige Guangxu-Marke, aber evtl. sp?ter. Zustand A/B. Literatur:-Gunhild Avitabile: Vom Schatz der Drachen. London, 1987.
