Description: PHOTO ALBUM WITH THE FUNERAL PROCESSION OF EMPRESS DOWAGER LONGYU.China. March/April 1913. Album of 75 photos, hand-numbered paper prints in black and white, pasted on cardboard. The state funeral on March 18th and 19th, 1913 for the last Empress Dowager was arranged by the Beiyang government. As Empress Xiao Ding Jing (1868-1913) she was the wife of the Guangxu Emperor. After his death in 1908 Longyu was defacto regent, as the Xuantong Emperor was still a child. She tried to preserve the imperial heritage in a time of fundamental change, as democratic and republican ideas began to be perceived in China. She put greatest value on the ritual meaning of the empire, but this was suspended by the political events and lost all meaning. Photographs no. 1 and 3: Tiananmen Square. No. 2: Hall of Supreme Harmony (Taihe Dian). No. 5-6: Manchurian-Mongolian style tent. No. 7-35: Condolenders from all walks of life. No. 52-61: Honor screens, fans and flower donations. M?rz bzw. April 1913. Album mit 75 Fotos, von Hand nummerierte Papierabzüge in Schwarzwei?, auf Karton geklebt. Das Staatsbegr?bnis am 18. und 19. M?rz 1913 für die Kaiserinwitwe war von der Beiyang-Regierung angeordnet. Sie war als Kaiserin Xiao Ding Jing (1868-1913) Gattin des Guangxu-Kaisers. Nach seinem Tod 1908 war sie als Longyu defacto Regentin, da der Xuantong-Kaiser noch ein Kind war. Sie versuchte das kaiserliche Erbe zu bewahren in einer Zeit grundlegender Ver?nderungen, als demokratisches und republikanisches Gedankengut in China Einzug hielten. Gr??ten Wert legte sie auf die rituelle Bedeutung des Kaisertums, allerdings wurde dies von den politischen Ereignissen abgeh?ngt wurde und verlor jegliche Bedeutung.Foto Nr. 1 und 3: Tiananmen-Platz. Versandversicherung 老照片相册：皇太后隆裕葬礼 相册约26x32cm/相片约8x14cm 相册内共75张老照片，黑色卡纸粘贴纸质黑白相片，手书编号，记录1913年3月18和19日为期两天的清朝末代皇太后隆裕（1868-1913年）的隆重葬礼—“国民哀悼会”以及之后梓宫奉移的场景。隆裕皇太后原为光绪的孝定景皇后，1908年光绪驾崩后，被宣统皇帝尊为隆裕皇太后。因皇帝年龄尚幼，她拥有垂帘听政之大权。1912年下诏逊位，病逝后袁世凯执政的国民政府下令在太和门前广场举行国民哀悼会。 相片编号1和3：天安门前“国民哀悼会”场景；编号2为太和殿；编号5和6：满蒙帐篷；编号7-35：社会各界人士前来致祭；编号52-61：花圈、輓联等；编号64-68：出殡；编号53、56和68刊登在1913年7月20日巴尔的摩出版的《德意志通讯报》名为《中国抬着最后一位皇后前往陵寝》。 来源： -奥古斯特?格莱特（August Grethe）先生（1884-卒年不详）私人藏品。格莱特先生1906年加入海军，1912年晋升海军少尉，后来为海军上士。 -德国北部私人藏品，通过继承财产获得。
