Black and white jade beast pendant from the Ming dynasty. Carved out of mottled black and white jade, this dog-like creature is looking backwards while lying down. A hole is pierced between the dog's front paws to allow for stringing. Dimensions are: 1 3/4 inches wide X 1 1/8 inches high. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in good condition. Provenance: From a Boston estate. Collected in Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s.
