Description: JUDITH UND HOLOFERNES ?l auf Leinwand. 130 x 80 cm. Das gro?formatige Gem?lde zeigt die Figuren nahezu in Lebensgr??e. Dramatisch die Situation, in der Judith das Haupt des Heerführers Holofernes in dessen Zelt vom K?rper trennt, w?hrend ihre Magd der Tat beiwohnt. Der betonte Hell-Dunkel-Kontrast des Gem?ldes ist auf den Einfluss von Caravaggio (1570/71-1610) zurückzuführen, dessen Werke der Maler w?hrend seines Rom-Aufenthaltes studieren konnte. Dagegen sind die leicht im Sfumato wiedergegebenen Konturen und die zurückhaltendere Farbigkeit auf den Einfluss von Antiveduto Grammatica (1571-1626) zurückzuführen sowie auf Werke von Oratio Gentilesci. The pronounced chiaroscuro shows the influence of Caravaggio (1570/71 - 1610). The contours are painted in sfumato technique and the restrained chromaticity indicates the influence of Antiveduto Grammatica (1571 - 1626) and works by Oratio Gentilesci. Literature: R.
