The rounded vessel is decorated in low relief with bands of archaic scrolls, with two upright u-shaped handles to the neck and standing on three cabriole feet. The domed cover is similarly decorated and is surmounted with three circular knops.

With C. Kools, Amsterdam, acquired from an antique dealer in Hong Kong in 1991.

Compare a similar ding dated to the 5th century B.C. sold at Christie's New York, 21-22 March 2013, lots 1237, and two further ding and covers sold in the same sale as lot 1130. Condition: The exterior has been cleaned.
