A rare Chinese Qing Dynasty LuJun glaze (also called a jade candle ware) double gourd shaped porcelain vase. The Chinese porcelain finely potted unto double gourd shape bottle vase, two conjugated globular body, heavier to the lower, gently rounded to narrow opening. The surface of the glaze has a fluid appearance with a splash of purplish colors melting together to create abstracted effect against a turquoise-green ground underglaze. Elegantly displayed upon a carved hardwood stand. Embossed, Yongzheng four characters reign mark, Qing Dynasty.
PROVENANCE: Private collections of John Platts (1905-1985), second son Geoffrey Platts, of Glen Cove, Long Island, NY.
