Yu Feian (于非闇; 1888-1959) framed Chinese traditional painting, ink and color on paper laid to silk, signed and dated, in the Autumn of Xinsi year (ca. 1941).
A bright golden bird perches toward the end of a fully bloomed cherry blossom branch, by Yu Feian (于非闇; 1889-1959). The bird holds a side facing position with neck outstretched as if searching the horizon for his mate. Very fine detail creates the realistic appearance of the branch bark and flowers. A balance between the tough branch exterior and the soft blossoms create a unique harmony in this work. This painting follows the Gongbi technique. Semi-cursive calligraphy is found in the top left corner followed by a single red seal. This painting has been secured within a wooden frame, and set behind glass.
