An excellent blue and white bowl depicting birds on a tree branch. The interior of the bowl also depicts two sparrows drinking from a pond. At the back, are character marks indicating the piece was made during Yongle Emperor's reign. Note: Though the mark indicates Yongle, it is likely that this bowl was replicated during Kangxi Emperor's reign, since later emperors were known to replicate highly sought after Ming pieces. Property of a Japanese collector from 1967, thence by descent.
