Ca. 18th century bronze Triad of Vishnu, Shridevi and Bhudevi. Each on a circular base sliding onto a rectangular pedestal, cast with the four-armed Vishnu holding his attributes, the lotus and disk in his two back hands, his principal hands showing the conch and the stance of holding a mace, wearing a dhoti, necklace and pendent sashes, flanked by his two consorts, each individually cast holding a lotus bud and with one arm extended alongside in mirrored poses.Vishnu is both world protector and preserver, restorer of moral order - he is all-powerful and all-pervasive by nature. The casting of each piece is beautiful as you can see in the fine details of the face and hands. Each detail is rendered perfectly. The patina and details of this piece are particularly appealing.
