Cf. K??rkman, Garo, Anatolian Weights and Measures, Istanbul, 2003, no.301 (KMA 626) and p.103 (plate), for very similar examples and illustrating their method of use. 45 grams, 97mm (3 3/4"). Property of a gentleman, Kent, UK; acquired London, 1980s These small triangular openwork pieces were used by hooking the frame to a horizontal string line and then suspending a vertical plumb bob on a line from it; this would assist in establishing horizontal and vertical guides, mostly for use in construction and similar works.
