An Early 20th Century Standing Ashtray. Originally from The Detroit Public Library, attributed to Pewabic Pottery. Cylindrical form with spade leaf and vine borders above and below Neoclassical motifs consisting of putti, bowknots, and garland, with a shield at either side, one with "DL" monogram, in light and dark blue matte glazes. Some crazing, large crack at the top, losses to pottery and small losses to the glaze, chips and several patched repairs at base. 13" diameter x 16" high. ESTIMATE $400-600
