A Japanese Satsuma Teapot. Elaborately decorated teapot features traditional Satsuma colors and "Thousand Faces" motif with Moriage decoration featuring a molded dragon handle and design around the spout. Painted nine-character marking at the underside, from the early 20th century/late Meiji period (1868-1912). Some wear to the painted gold decoration, particularly at the finial, the spout, and the dragon's appendages (handle). 6 1/2" wide, 5 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $200-300
