Two Early 19th Century English Ironstone Pitchers. Including 1 pitcher with puce lustre decoration on the cream and apple green body which is transfer decorated with a portrait and quote "We have met the Enemy, & They are ours!" from Oliver Hazard Perry at one side and a portrait and quote "Always be ready to die for your country" from Zebulon Pike together with 1 pitcher with transfer scenes at either side and hand painted leaves and berries about the rim as well as "William & Mary Bentley 1818" at the body below the spout. No apparent markings. Both pieces show there age and wear, crazing, some spider cracks, scratches to both; the green pitcher has flakes at the spout and foot rim, the other pitcher with a loss at the underside, a crack a the rim, and repair at the handle.
