TWO PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE PLAQUES 18TH-19TH CENTURY The first, shaped plaque is carved on one side with a scene of a fisherman steering his boat towards a pavilion nestled below pine tree on the shore, and on the reverse with a seven-character poetic inscription referring to the scene followed by two seals, wen and wan (plaything), all below confronted dragons. The second, rectangular plaque is carved on one side with a scholar holding a staff standing in a landscape with pavilions and a large tree, and on the reverse with a seven-character poetic inscription referring to the scene followed by a seal, zhen (treasure), also below confronted dragons. Each is carved from semi-translucent stone of even tone. 2 1/8 and 2 1/16 in. (5.5 and 5.3 cm.) high
