Description: The cup and saucer are decorated and gilt in polychrome enamels with figures in a farming landscape with houses and boats, all surrounded by a gilt floral scroll border. The cup: 4 cm. high, 7.3 cm. diam. The saucer: 2.2 cm. high, 11.8 cm. diam. Catalogue notes: Compare similar examples in Francois Hervouet, 'La porcelaine de compagnie des Indes', Paris, 1986, chapter 15. Condition: The cup: with a small subtle area of overpainting to the rim (approx. 2 cm.). Both: with expected wear to the gilding, minute nicks to the foot.
