Folio "My Best Girls, 8 Drawings by John Canaday" along with an original loose drawing from the same series, "I know, as a matter of fact it never was a very good picture, J.C." and inscribed "Regards to Marvin Sadik from John Canaday". 8 1/2" x 11 1/2"; PLUS (2) drawings, one possibly by Leonard Baskin of Art Dealer David Findlay, dated 4 My 1970, in pencil, unsigned but with Baskin's distinctive style and lettering, 8" X 5", light bends; the second in ink on cardstock with linen wrap, inscribed "Marvin Sadik in a rare mood, thomas dr escuolo di Michelange", 12" x 8 1/2", small stain.
Canaday was Senior Art Critic for the New York Times, Baskin was a long-time friend of Marvin Sadik (1932-2013), who was Director of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. from 1969 to 1981. These are from his estate.
