Oil on canvas. Featuring a landscape scene and entitled "Town, Dreams." Signed by Andrei Medvedev (Russian, born 1932) on the lower left corner with initials and dated 2015 on the lower right corner. Title, date and artist name inscribed on verso. 50.8 x 83.3 cm (20 x 32.8 inches). Accompanied by a notary signed certificate. Andrey Medvedev has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Ladoga-2M' sold at Vladey 'Spring Auction' in 2015 for $14,467. “The space which he creates seems to be devoid of gravity, giving the impression that the individuals portrayed are floating above the ground. His compositions, the positions of his figures and the apparent lack of gravity provide his work with a mystery all of its own. The imperfections and strange juxtapositions summon up questions about our existence and the absurdity of life, but likewise the beauty of the glaring contrasts of the 21st century”Peter Van Rooy (German professor and art critic).
