The dish is finely and delicately enamelled with a lady seated playing a qin accompanied by her attendant holding a fly whisk, all in a fenced garden with pierced rocks and trees beside two cranes and an open window. The scene is encircled by a floral band in blue enamel, and the flat rim is decorated with shaped cartouches decorated in gilt enclosing flowers, all on a silvered ground.

Condition: There are three very small chips to the rim which have been touched up (max. approx. 0.5 cm.).
There is expected wear to the enamels and gilding consistent with age.
