The bumpa shaped as a stylised ornate tree where the oval cover forms the flowering leaves, the vessel is surmounted by a seated Amitayus holding a flask. The rectangular altar box is modelled as a temple front with standing columns, decorated and gilt with geometric designs.

The altar box would have been made with a nomadic life in mind, the size of the box befitting of a small household altar in a yurt (tent).

Wear to the pigments, some possibly refreshed
The front facing has been repaired with associated repainting.
Chips to the edges.

Chips to the extremities and to the gilt lacquer.
