Ca. 19th century Burmese Shwe Zawa Hsun OK lacquerware Offering bowl. The bowl is constructed from wood, coated in lacquer and gold gilt. Hsun-ok bowls are used to carry offerings to the monk and monasteries. This bowl would probably have been used on a home shrine, placed in front of the families Buddha image along with offerings of flowers and other small items. The bowl is decorated in traditional black and gold Shwe Zawa style. The delicacy of the gilt work, excellent condition and overall style of the piece is very unusual.Provenance: Private UK collection. Please contact us for high resolution images of the piece.
