Description: A rare pair of painted enamel and repousse decorated boxes and covers Qing dynasty
each of oval quatre-lobed form with shallow rounded sides supported on a short straight foot, the domed cover painted in bright enamels with a pair of song birds in flight and perched on ornamental rockwork among flowering peonies, and a gnarled pine tree growing to one side, all within a repousse frieze of flowers and foliage reserved on a bright blue enamel ground around the sides, the base and interior in white, the copper showing traces of gilding, wood stands
