Description: A finely embroidered coverlet, Chinese for the European market, circa 1800, Qing Dynasty, the ivory satin ground with central foliate medallion encircled by strap-work, with navy silk scallop motifs, worked in satin-stitch in mainly in pastel pinks and greens with blue highlights, the outer border with palmette repeats, acanthus scrolls and large peach palmettes to the corners, edged with silk fringing and lined in yellow silk, 212 by 173cm, 83 1/2in by 68in Provenance as for lot 485.
