19th centuryOf baluster form with dish-shaped rims, the necks applied with recumbent lion and cub handles, the shoulders with pairs of sinuous guei dragons, the bodies elaborately painted and gilt in mirror image with scenes of officials and warriors gathered on pavilion terraces and in encampments in mountainous, pine-strewn landscapes, the bodies densely decorated with birds and butterflies and decorative pendants amongst a profusion of fruit and flower sprays, the neck interiors glazed turquoise, 131cm (51 1/2in) high (2).
