A Raku pottery vessel and ceramic stand by Hawaiian ceramic artist and sculptor Matthew Lovein (b-1949). Titled "Wish Keeper", the ovoid vessel having a bamboo shaped lid is raku fired in a turquoise crackle glaze. Attached to the lid is a silk cord and small ceramic container, designed by the artist to hold “wishes” written on paper. The vessel has a green blue glaze and a stamped symbol representing “good fortune”. The piece rests on a round ceramic base with bamboo shaped legs. Overall on stand, 14" high, 9" diameter.
