A late Victorian silver Arts & Crafts casket designed by Benjamin Acres Wick for Heath & Middleton, London, 1900, base signed 'Benjamin Creswick Designer' Rectangular hammered form, cover chased in relief with three fishermen in conversation around a table, a Tree of Life chased to either side, riveted hinge mounts, and feet, gilt interior, 24 cm. long x 11 cm. wide x 9.8 cm. high, 26 oz. (806 gm.). Benjamin Creswick (1853-1946) took up sculpture under the eye of John Ruskin and later worked at the Birmingham School of Art as Master of Modelling & Modelled Design from 1889.
