A mid Victorian coromandel and brass bound dressing box with silver fittings, the box retailed by Leuchars of Piccadilly, the silver fittings by Thomas Johnson, London 1859 The rectangular hinged cover centred by a brass tablet with engraved monogram enclosing a concealed compartment to the reverse of the cover with a removable easel mirror, the interior with a removable tray with six lidded pots, scent bottle and a long lidded box (a replacement and marked for William Comyns, London 1893), a further tray with five cut glass silver lidded bottles, the front with an apron drawer, with flush carrying handles to the sides, the lock stamped W.LEUCHARS PATENT, 38 PICCADILLY LONDON, with an engraved retailers plate to the back edge of the interior, 33 cm. wide x 24 cm. deep x 19 cm. high.
