A fine 19th century French onyx, gilt bronze mounted and champlevé enamel decorated jardinière attributed to Eugène Cornu for G.Viot & Cie, Paris The removable metal liner within a tableted front centred by a shaped roundel of Alabastro Fiorito and flanked by shaped champlevé enamel panels, the reverse similarly decorated, the corners mounted with winged female monopodiae terminating in lion's paw feet, the ends applied with large panels of Alabastro Fioritio and centred by gilt bronze roundels issuing scrolling finials, 60.5 cm. wide x 25 cm. deep x 22.5 cm. high.
