Description: Impressive one of a kind, possibly Han or Tang Dynasty brown phosphatic glazed pottery vase having unusual silver painted Phoenix bird decoration. Form shows Persian influence and many of the works wereinfluence by the different nations traveling and trading along the silk road. Measures approx. 12" height x 7 3/4" diameter (30.5cm x 19.6cm). Provenance: From the collection of Anne Gilbert, a veteran researcher,appraiser and columnists. Exhibitions: This vase has been reviewed and illustrated in a syndicated column by Gilbert with an interview with a curator from the Field Museum Tang Hall Exhibit.
