Oil on board, framed. Featuring an abstract expressionist composition. Signed and attributed to Peter Robert Keil (German, born 1942) on the lower right corner. 66 x 39 cm (26 x 15 inches). Contemporary artist Peter Keil was born in 1942 in Poland. After losing his father in WW II, he moved with his mother to West Berlin. While there, he was inspired by the Expressionist art he found in books at his local library. Peter Keil's oil paintings of landscapes showcased vibrant colors, and it wasn?t until later in his career that he focused more on contemporary portraiture to raise social awareness. Artist Peter Keil was a witness to the effects the building of the Berlin Wall had on West Berlin, and these narratives were often the subjects of his artwork. Much of Peter Keil's art for sale?was inspired by his mentor Otto Nagel, and it often depicts what are considered the less desirable factions of society.
