Description: Western-style bronze figure of a Thai Dancer in classic pose, with one foot slightly lifted off the double lotus pedestal, as her right arm stretches to create an over-bent elbow and continues to display backwards-stretched fingers (represenitng kinnari, the half-bird, half-human creature of Thai mythology). She is wearing an elaborate costume, ornate headdress, and extensive jewelry. This sculpture, signed by Japanese artist K.M. Ishikawa, is marked Hanoi on base and is in excellent condition. Other pieces by Ishikawa have been dated betwen 1913 and 1919, so this was probably done around 1918. 13.25 inches
