Description: A Chinese famille rose porcelain snuff bottle. Daoguan mark and possibly of the period. Painted with scholar and a boy in garden with pagodas on one side; painted with pagodas and bridge on reverse, having inscriptions of poem upper right. With rectangular panels in red on shoulders. Flattened rounded square form on oval foot, with four-character Daoguang mark in overglaze red, mouth rim with gold enamel. 2 1/4". Provenance: From the collection of Sara Janet Shaw, MD.
