Ivory netsukeJapan20th centuryThe skate is coloured, decorated with various patterns and stippled to simulate the surface of the ray skin. The plain underside with a small fish which forms the himotoshi, below the signature SEIGYOKU. Himotoshi also possible through the tail which curls back towards the body.
